On March 10, 2025, a planned meeting of stakeholders for the #oakadapt project, co-financed by the European Union through the INTERREG HU-SK program, took place in the municipal forests of Krupina. The working meeting focused on consulting the proposed methodological procedures for operational forest inventory—specifically, forest monitoring using innovative software solutions.
The Real Forest Ltd. introduced an interface based on a mobile application platform that supports data sharing via a geo-information cloud. This solution enables comprehensive data collection not only on the production parameters of forest stands but also on indicators of quality, damage, and forest biodiversity, derived from current scientific knowledge.
During the field portion of the meeting, representatives from the Municipal Forests of Krupina, the National Forest Centre, and the Technical University in Zvolen discussed key information necessary for implementing nature-based management practices. Several suggestions for improving data collection procedures in real-world conditions emerged during the discussion.
The goal of this new digital tool is to enable efficient and high-quality collection of forest data for foresters, without the need for costly specialized hardware or software.
After incorporating the feedback from the meeting, we will begin fieldwork in collaboration with Municipal Forests Krupina in the coming weeks.
